Step into the world of one of Sweden's most beloved poets, Gustaf Fröding, at his beautiful birthplace, Alsters Herrgård. This lovely 18th-century manor offers serene views over Lake Vänern, inviting you to wander through the scenic park and gardens. Inside, you can explore exhibitions (there is a fee) about the poet's life, browse the craft shops, and enjoy a traditional Swedish lunch or pastry at the charming café. The area and the park around the manor are free and is absolutely worth checking out! There is a wonderful bird tower about a 10 minute walk from the park which gives you gorgeous views of the lake. Free parking, and toilet inside the manor.
