Maulbronn Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Germany and one of the best-preserved sites in Europe. It was founded in 1147 and experienced periods of great prosperity throughout its history. At its peak, it owned seventeen farmsteads and various vineyards. The complex is surrounded by medieval turreted walls and it houses an Evangelical seminary and a police station. Visitors can explore the western courtyard, the church, eastern courtyard, museums, the water system, and see the forum of ancient days. An average of 235,000 persons visit the monastery each year, wanting to discover the unique location, rich history, old architecture and engaging beauty of Maulbronn Monastery.
