The North Frisian Islands are a group of 13 islands located in the northern coast of Schleswig-Holstein, the most northerly state of Germany. With its unique charms and diverse nature, it has become a popular destination for those seeking some summer fun in the sun, ranging from lazy days on the beach to adventurous hikes up the cliffs. From Sylt, Hamburg's hip island resort, to Amrum, Föhr and Pellworm, there is something special for everyone. As one of the few remaining spots with undeveloped natural landscapes, the region also offer visitors an insight into the past, with several old Frisian footpaths criss-crossing the area, offering views of fishing villages, coastal meadows and ancient monuments.
