🦅 Climb inside a giant bird? Yes please.
Surrounding the bird is an awesome family park:
🌿 Grassy and concrete play areas
🌞 Big shade sails
🎉 Flying fox
🔥 Free BBQs
🚻 Toilets nearby
🐾 Dog-friendly areas too
Tucked in the heart of Hobsonville Point, Te Kanohi O Te Manu (The Eye of the Bird) is a 10-metre-tall sculptural slide and lookout that’ll have kids and adults equally stoked. Designed by artist Philipp Meier, the towering bird structure honours native wildlife and the area’s aviation past, with a spiral slide running right through it and a viewing platform in its “head” for that perfect birds-eye view.
Tips:
Bring sunscreen & snacks — there’s seating and shade, but it gets busy
Combine with a walk along the Coastal Walkway for extra adventure
Great for birthday parties, weekend hangs, or letting off steam after school
Early mornings = fewer crowds
