Tucked along the scenic 309 Road, is this quiet roadside hidden gem waterhole, It's a sweet summer spot that's generally pretty quiet as people go to the more well known Waiau Waterfall (20 minutes up the road - also well worth the visit)

Bayliss Reserve Waterhole 💦

You’ll find picnic tables, good parking and even a toilet here! There's loads of deeper areas and jump spots, and also shallow areas for kids.

Just a heads-up, there’s a vehicle accessway across the creek for nearby private property, so make sure you’re not blocking it when you park.

Reviews:
'Decent swimming hole , few spots to jump off into deeper areas , good shallow spots for children also . There's a driveway /accessway for trucks to drive across to private property across the creek so just bare in mind to park your vehicle out there way of that . Fresh crisp water , has a toilet there also. We take our little cooker BBQ , water keg, and a few snacks there and spend the day, also remember a shade umbrella, and make a day of it . My kids love it there' – Von, Google Maps
'Awesome stop with the kids. Good facilities and super refreshing dip!' – Mike, TripAdvisor

'Fun for all ages.... Water was clean and clear and different levels of jumps from just above water lever to 4 metres (ish) off a log. Good fun' - Sam, Google
