​If you're looking for a unique way to explore Rarotonga's underwater world without getting wet, the Raro Reef Sub offers a captivating semi-submersible experience.​

Departing from Avatiu Harbour, just a short walk from the Punanga Nui Market, this tour takes you on a 1.25 to 1.5-hour journey over vibrant coral reefs and the historic RMS Maitai shipwreck. From the comfort of the vessel, you can observe a variety of marine life, including giant trevally, tropical fish, stingrays, turtles, and, during whale season (August to November), humpback whales. ​

Tour Details:

  • Departure Times: Daily at 9 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, and 4 PM (weather permitting)

  • Duration: Approximately 1.25 to 1.5 hours

  • Location: Avatiu Harbour, Rarotonga

The Raro Reef Sub is suitable for all ages, making it an excellent choice for families. The vessel features ample seating and handrails, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for everyone. ​

Note: This sub can only operate in calm conditions and also is often dry docked, so it's best to call or email ahead to enquire.
