A hidden locals' gem perfect for a summer swim and two easy nature walks.

Just off the main highway, you'll find the 'Meeting of the Waters Scenic Reserve / Araheke Track' which features a deep, clean freshwater swimming hole with a jumping area and hopefully still a rope swing.

It gets its name from the spot where two streams merge into one — a peaceful natural junction that makes for a seriously scenic setting.

Note: Watch out for a strong current and at times the pesky sandflies can appear. The DOC website states no dogs allowed however alot of reviews state that people bring their dogs.

Meeting of the Waters Walk
