Still one of our favourite North Island walks!
📍Tama Lakes, via Taranaki Falls Loop, National Park

Highlights include waterfalls, tussock and alpine shrub, beech forest, impressive lakes and epic views of Mt Ruapehu and Mt Ngauruhoe.

⛰️ The last part up to the lakes viewpoint is steep & rocky
⚠️ Important: Take clothing for both weather temps, enough water & food, good shoes.

💎 We loved starting the walk at 4am, there's something magical about walking in the moonlight! Also alot less people 😅 we stayed at the @skotelalpineresort as it's right on the tracks doorstep and made for a memorable weekend trip with the crew! (book your accomodation in advance).
