⚔️ Day 11: From Samurai Spirits to Manga Heaven
Today was all about immersion—first into the ancient art of the sword, then into the modern heart of Tokyo’s fan culture.
🎭 The Samurai Theater Tokyo
We booked a Samurai Experience via the Klook app, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip.
The Experience: The "professors" at Samurai Theater Tokyo are not only incredibly talented but also funny. They dressed us in traditional kimonos and taught us authentic sword techniques.
The "Movie" Moment: They staged full combat scenes with us! The best part? They used our phones to take photos and videos of the action, giving us the perfect souvenirs.
Lunch: After our training, we headed to Royal Host in Chiyoda for a delicious and relaxing lunch. It’s a classic Japanese family restaurant with a great variety of comfort food.
🎮 Ikebukuro: Our Favorite Tokyo District
While many people flock to Akihabara, Ikebukuro stole our hearts. It has a unique energy and felt like our personal playground.
Animate Ikebukuro: We headed to the massive Animate flagship store.
The Manga Café: We enjoyed a themed café with incredible manga designs.
Game Luck: We played several games to win figurines and had an incredible lucky streak—we walked out with 4 new figures for our collection!
The "One Piece" Hunt Continues: Even though our Kumamoto quest was over, we found amazing One Piece Mugiwara Stores here (and all over Tokyo).
Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo: Located in Sunshine City, this is one of the biggest Pokémon Centers in the world. Between the statues and the exclusive merch, it’s a must-visit for any trainer.
💡 Collector’s Note:
If you are looking for specific anime merch or high-quality figurines, Ikebukuro is a dream. The stores are huge, and the vibe is slightly more relaxed than the chaos of Shibuya. It quickly became our favorite neighborhood in the city!
