Hope Valley is one of my favorite getaways especially in the Fall during peak Autumn colors. The place to stay is at the Desolation Hotel cabins (check the link to the website) a picturesque spot nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, just a stone's throw from Lake Tahoe and Truckee. This charming valley is known for its stunning natural beauty, featuring rolling meadows, lush forests, and breathtaking mountain views. Outdoor enthusiasts flock here year-round, whether it’s for hiking and fishing in the warmer months or skiing and snowboarding when the snow falls. The area has a laid-back vibe, making it a perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The little cabin is just off Hwy 88 a few miles west of Hope Valley.
