Little Qualicum Falls might not be as instantly photogenic as Triple Falls or Englishman River Falls, but it’s still worth visiting. The canyon alone is stunning, especially when low, moody clouds roll in, adding drama to the scene. And after heavy rain or spring runoff, the waterfall becomes a real spectacle—powerful, roaring, and full of energy.

One challenge is the occasional log jam that can clutter compositions a bit, but there’s still plenty to work with, especially if you embrace the wild, untamed feel of the place. Beyond the falls, the surrounding forest is just as captivating. Thick moss carpets everything, creating a rich, green wonderland, and if you keep an eye out, you’ll spot some beautiful arbutus trees and even a few rare Western yews.

It’s one of those places that rewards a slower approach—take your time, explore different angles, and let the atmosphere sink in. Even if it’s not the easiest waterfall to photograph, the experience of being there is worth every second.
