Kennecott, also known as the Kennicott Mines, is an abandoned mining camp near McCarthy in Wrangell St. Elias National Park. You can take the shuttle from Kennicott Base Camp (end of the road) for $5 per person or take a short bike ride. Once at the mines, you can choose to explore on your own or take a guided tour to see more of inside the buildings that aren't open to the public and learn more about the history of the area.
