This Buddhist Temple located right across the street from the famous COEX Mall & Starfield Library dates all the way back to 794, and it's one of the most visited temples in Seoul. Even though it's free to visit, they recommended making a small donation as you enter. I recommend taking public transportation, although they do have a small, paid area for parking if you have a car. There's also no need to worry about what you're wearing or stress about covering up when you visit this temple, unlike other Asian countries. I recommend exploring the grounds, and making sure to stop by the 23 meter tall Buddha towards the back center. On my most recent visit my husband and I also took part in their Temple Stay program - an overnight experience on the 1st Saturday of each month - that I highly recommend! This temple can get very crowded, we recommend going before 11:00am or after 6:00pm to avoid the crowds.
