Háifoss is one of Iceland's tallest waterfalls and, in our opinion, one of the most spectacular places in the entire country. Dropping an incredible 122 meters into a dramatic canyon, the sheer scale of the landscape is something that photos simply can't capture. What makes Háifoss even more special is its remote location in the Highlands. Unlike Iceland's more famous waterfalls, you'll often find yourself surrounded by silence and untouched nature, making the experience feel even more magical.
From the viewpoint, you can admire both Háifoss and its neighboring waterfall, Granni, creating one of the most breathtaking panoramas in Iceland. If you're looking for a place that truly showcases the country's raw beauty, this is one you won't want to miss.
If you have the time, don't just admire the waterfall from above. Follow the trail down into the canyon and experience Háifoss from its base. Standing beneath the 122-meter waterfall truly puts its immense scale into perspective and makes you feel incredibly small. It was one of the most unforgettable moments of our trip and an experience we highly recommend.
