This smoking hot spring is ehat gave the name to Reykjanes (Smoke peninsula). A legend says it is haunted by the ghost of a woman who died in fury for having been robbed of her precious pot by her landlord after she could not pay rent. Her ghost made many people die, until a local priest threw a yarn into the hot spring, forcing the ghost to follow it.
