Valahnúkamöl is an impressive ridge of well-rounded stones located on the tip of Reykjanes. About 420 metres long, 80 metres wide and 10 metres tall, this marvel of nature was formed by powerful storms, high waves and surf. It also features a series of volcanic fissures known as Stampar, along with fascinating sites such as the Valahnúkur mountain, the Karlinn sea cliff, the Gunnuhver mud pools and steam vents, the Skálafell Earthquake fissures and the Háleyjabunga lava shield. Visiting this amazing place is bound to leave you feeling inspired by its natural beauty. Don't forget to pay homage to the statue of the last Great Awk, killed by fishermen on a sea stack off the coast to the south.
