Outstanding Bolafjall offers visitors an incredible view of the Ísafjarðardjúp and Jökulfirðir area- and some visitors even claim they have seen the distant lands of Greenland! Travelers can access the spot via a winding road up to the radar station at the top, although this route is open from the middle of June until September. Before or after making the trek, Westfjords recommends stopping in at Skálavík Beach for a walk along the sand shore. There's something special here, an atmosphere of remoteness and peace, which I recommend you try.
