Gullfoss, or the "Golden Falls" is an iconic waterfall located in the Hvítá River in Southwest Iceland. The majestic scenary of Gullfoss consists of a curved staircase-like cascade and two distinct stages where the water plunges 32 metres (105 ft) deep into a crevice 20 metres (66 ft) wide and 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) in length. On average, 140 cubic metres (5,000 cu ft) of water per second flow through Gullfoss in the summertime and 80 cubic metres (2,800 cu ft) in the wintertime, making it a breathtaking sight to all who visit it. Look out for rainbows!
