Lóndrangar is an Icelandic wonderland, located on the Snæfellsness Peninsula coast. The towering basalt rock pinnacles stand tall, with one 75 metres high and the other 61 metres high, looming over the horizon east of Malarrif. An incredible sight to see, Lóndrangar began as a volcanic crater millions of years ago – it has since been hewn away by erosion, leaving two impressive pinnacles standing proud in the unforgivingly beautiful Icelandic landscape. Rich with wildlife, one can observe black-legged kittiwake, common murre, puffin and northern fulmar birds atop the steep slopes of its twin towers. This area was historically used as a natural port for 12 fishing boats. Lóndrangar’s majestic beauty is an absolute must-see on any trip to Iceland!
