Gerðuberg Cliffs on the south side of the Snӕfellsnes Peninsula is an awe-inspiring sight – hundreds of perfectly symmetrical, hexagonal basalt columns standing at heights of up to 14 meters (46 feet) tall. This incredible rock formation was shaped by ancient of lava flows that cooled rapidly over time. Visitors to this amazing landscape have the chance to take in some of Iceland’s most astounding sights, and appreciate the spectacular beauty of nature’s work.
