Djúpivogur Village in East-Iceland is home to a unique outdoor artwork near the bay called Gleðivík or Merry Bay. Created by well-known Icelandic artist Sigurður Guðmundsson, Eggin í Gleðivík - also known as the Eggs at Merry Bay – consists of 34 granite eggs symbolizing bird species that migrate to Iceland from far away to nest and lay their eggs. The eggs are imported from China, creating a memorable display at this picturesque location that's sure to bring joy to visitors. Amendments have been made to the artwork due to a fatal accident that took place at the bay, but it remains an incredibly popular tourist attraction in the village.
