Few places in Switzerland impressed me as much as Trift Bridge. Suspended high above the valley, this spectacular suspension bridge offers breathtaking views of the glacier, the turquoise lake and the surrounding peaks.
The bridge itself is impressive, but the scenery along the way is just as spectacular. This is one of those hikes where the journey is just as rewarding as the destination.
💡 Sandra’s Tip
I chose the more challenging route without using the Trift cable car. If you’re looking for an extra challenge and a longer day in the mountains, I highly recommend this option. The route I followed is linked below via AllTrails.
🥾 Hike Information
• Distance: approximately 6 km round trip (using the Trift cable car)
• Elevation Gain: 695 m
• Duration: around 3 h 20 min
• Difficulty: Moderate
⚠️ Good to Know
• The bridge is 170 m long and suspended around 100 m above the valley.
• Not recommended for people with a strong fear of heights.
• Good hiking shoes are essential.
• During peak season, advance reservations for the cable car are recommended.
