Gleno Waterfall was one of my favourite childhood spots and somewhere I love revisiting in every season.

It is nestled in the heart of the Glens of Antrim and owned by the National Trust.

How to get there:

Head for the village of Gleno and follow the signposted waterfall trail. The walk includes many steps, that meander up and down the sides of the valley to enable great views of the waterfall from many angles. Please take care, the terrain can be muddy.

The good news is, swimming is permitted. But beware: the water is rather icy. Refreshing in summer, but super cold in the other seasons.

Top Travel Tip:

🧺 Pack a picnic , there is a little bench right by the waterfall that is just perfect as a waterside picnic. You’re going to love it!

ā˜•ļø The Dairy is a cute cafe & farmshop that is super close by ( just a 2 min drive away). Definitely stop by and check it out! They have a great menu choice and the farmshop is the perfect place to pick up a local Northern Ireland Souvenir.

šŸ’š As with any natural area please follow the principles of Leave No Trace, respecting the environment and wildlife.
