This is a great sunset activity all year round but we recommend doing it in summer especially if you have little ones in tow - that way you can enjoy relaxing at the top without anyone getting cold!
On a clear day you will be able to see for miles and even into Wales and the Black Mountains, so the reward is pretty spectacular.
Rent your bikes in Malvern town (We used Happy Bikes) then its a pretty easy to navigate but fairly brutal incline up to the top. We recommend setting off a couple of hours before sunset to allow you time to enjoy this spot at its best. The well marked mountain bike trails will see you up the hill where you will be met with a choice of locations to watch the sunset. We headed for The Worcestershire Beacon, which is the highest point. This took us a bit over an hour with a 2 year old, and so could be done quicker without!
Once up there we found a grassy spot to set up camp and watch the sun slip away over miles and miles of beautiful rolling hills. Whats more you may well be joined by dozens of Paragliders, sailing through the air just above your heads, making for a pretty cool bonus.
Pro tip:
Grab some picnic bits from town before you set off. There is no shortage of shops and supermarkets but if you want something quick and easy we recommend FAUN. Then when your at the top you can have dinner with a view!
