Trim Castle, located in County Meath, Ireland, is a medieval castle with a rich history spanning back to the 12th century. Built by Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter, it served as the caput of the Lordship of Meath. With its unique cruciform-shaped keep and extensive curtain walls, Trim Castle is the largest Norman castle in Ireland, covering an area of 30,000 m2. Over the years, the castle has seen various phases of development, ownership changes, and even played a role in movies like Braveheart. Today, it is under the care of the Irish Government through the Office of Public Works, welcoming visitors to explore its fascinating past.
