Everglades National Park is a massive subtropical wilderness in Florida that's home to rare and endangered species like manatees, American crocodiles, and Florida panthers. It's not just a regular park - it's a World Heritage Site, International Biosphere Reserve, and more!
You will need a national parks pass to get into the national park.
We don't think you would need more than one day here so here's the perfect one day itinerary.
š
Start at Flamingo Marina for sunrise.
Youāll beat the crowds and have the best chance to spot manatees and crocodiles while the park is quiet and magical.
š¶ Join a FREE ranger-guided kayak tour.
Itās 3.5 hours of paddling through beautiful mangroves, and itās the best way to explore the park up close. (Pro tip: Check the NPS events calendar and reserve your spot early!)
š Hike the Anhinga Trail.
This easy 1.3 KM boardwalk trail gets you up close with Everglades wildlifeāand yes, you might see gators!
š Gator-spotting on your way to Big Cypress.
On your drive to the Oasis Visitor Center, keep an eye on the roadside ditches. Youāll likely spot dozens of alligators chilling in the water. Pull over (safely!) to admire them from a distance.
š Explore Oasis Visitor Center.
Walk the boardwalk for more gator sightings and maybe even a few turtles. If youāre still craving more wildlife, head to the Nathaniel P. Reed Visitor Center nearby for another boardwalk adventure.
Pro Tips:

š Skip the pricey park restaurants and grab lunch near Miami before heading to Big Cypress.
š Always respect wildlife and keep your distance
