Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate stands in the heart of Vieux Nice and is one of the most impressive Baroque churches on the French Riviera. Built in the 17th century, the cathedral was constructed during the period when Nice was ruled by the Dukes of Savoy, who worshipped here.

The exterior is distinguished by its elegant tiled dome and colourful cupola, which rises above the narrow streets of the old town and serves as a landmark for the surrounding square.

Inside, the cathedral reveals a striking display of Baroque decoration, with richly sculpted stucco, marble altars, painted chapels, and ornate panelling. The lavish interior contrasts with the relatively modest façades typical of many buildings in the old town.

The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Réparate, the patron saint of Nice, whose relics are preserved in the church. Because of its historical and religious importance, the cathedral remains one of the key landmarks of the city’s historic centre.
