Directions

Porquerolles is the largest island of the Îles d’Hyères, located just off the coast of the Giens Peninsula near Hyères. Accessible by ferry from La Tour-Fondue, the island is famous for its unspoiled landscapes, clear waters, and relaxed atmosphere.

One of the most distinctive features of Porquerolles is that cars are not allowed, which makes the island particularly peaceful. The best way to explore is by bicycle or on foot, following forest tracks that lead through vineyards, olive groves, and pine-scented Mediterranean woodland.

The island is also known for its beautiful sandy beaches, among the finest on the French Riviera, as well as rocky coves and clear turquoise water ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

Beyond the beaches, Porquerolles offers several cultural and natural attractions. The Fort Sainte-Agathe, overlooking the village, hosts exhibitions about the island’s environment and history. Scenic walking routes also lead to the Porquerolles lighthouse, with panoramic views over the Mediterranean.

With its combination of wild landscapes, vineyards, cycling paths, and spectacular beaches, Porquerolles is often considered one of the most beautiful islands on the Côte d’Azur.

👉 Local tip: Rent a bike as soon as you arrive at the port. Cycling the island’s sandy forest paths is the easiest way to reach hidden coves and quieter beaches away from the main crowds.
