Plateforme d'observation Baou Mourine

Directions

Wide open views with almost no effort, the kind of place where you get a full panorama without committing to a long hike. It’s one of the easiest ways to take in the scale of the surrounding landscape.

The Plateforme d’observation Baou Mourine, above Escragnolles, offers sweeping views over the hills and mountains of the hinterland. From the viewing platform, you can see deep into the valleys and across the rugged terrain that separates the coast from Haute-Provence.

The access is straightforward from the village, following clearly marked forest tracks (DFCI de Briasq and Baou Mourine). The route is short, well signposted, and suitable for walking, cycling, or even a sturdy stroller, making it one of the most accessible viewpoints in the area.

There are actually two nearby panoramic points, both easy to reach, allowing you to enjoy slightly different angles of the landscape without much extra effort.

👉 Local Tip: Continue a bit past the first viewpoint to reach the second platform. Most visitors stop at the first one, but the second offers a wider and often quieter panorama.
