Les Marais du Vigueirat
WildlifePark
Directions

Les Marais du Vigueirat is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to explore the landscapes and wildlife of the Camargue without needing special equipment or long hikes.

Located near Arles, this protected nature reserve features well-marked walking trails, observation points, and guided tours through marshes, reed beds, and open wetlands. It’s designed to make the Camargue accessible while still preserving its natural environment.

As you explore, you may spot white Camargue horses, black bulls, flamingos, wild boar, and many bird species, all within a relatively compact and easy-to-navigate area.

For a more immersive experience, the reserve also offers horse-drawn carriage rides, which allow you to reach areas that are otherwise inaccessible on foot.

This is one of the best places in the region for travelers who want to see wildlife without venturing into more remote or demanding terrain.

👉 Local Tip: Book a guided tour or carriage ride if you can. You’ll access quieter areas and increase your chances of spotting animals compared to sticking only to the main walking paths.
