Right in the center of Sanary, this church anchors the town both visually and culturally. Its tall stone spire rises above the harbor streets, marking the spot where village life has revolved for centuries.

The Église Saint-Nazaire, founded in the 16th century and rebuilt in the 19th century, reflects the growth of Sanary-sur-Mer in the Var. Its architecture mixes Romanesque inspiration with Byzantine influences, while the bell tower is decorated with symbolic figures of the four evangelists.

Inside, the atmosphere shifts. The walls are covered with modern frescoes painted in 2006, illustrating scenes from the life of Christ in a continuous visual narrative. The church is also known for its Quoirin organ, installed in 2007, which gives the space remarkable acoustics and makes it a regular venue for concerts and the annual sacred music festival.

One unusual detail reveals a piece of local history: the church was designed with two separate entrances, once used by rival groups during a period of tension between Sanary and neighboring Ollioules.
