Directions

Parc Borély is Marseille’s most popular green space, located between the city and the sea in the southern districts. It’s the kind of place locals come to relax, walk, cycle, or escape the heat.

The park combines several landscapes in one area: wide lawns, a boating lake, palm-lined paths, rose gardens, and a well-maintained botanical garden. It’s spacious enough to never feel crowded, even on busy days.

At its center stands the elegant Château Borély, an 18th-century mansion that now houses the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, de la Faïence et de la Mode. Inside, you’ll find ceramics from the Marseille region, fashion collections, and Art Nouveau and Art Deco furniture.

Because of its location near the beaches and the Corniche, Parc Borély is easy to combine with a coastal walk or a day by the sea.

👉 Local Tip: Come late afternoon and walk toward the nearby beaches for sunset. Locals often combine Parc Borély with the coast, and the transition from park to sea makes it one of the most relaxing routes in Marseille.
