The Plages de Pampelonne form the most famous beach area near Saint-Tropez, stretching along a wide bay about 4 km southeast of the town. This sweeping shoreline extends for nearly 5 km of golden sand, making it one of the largest and most iconic beaches on the French Riviera.

The bay is divided into several sections, each with its own identity. Some areas are lined with luxury beach clubs known for attracting celebrities and the jet-set, while others cater to families, naturists, or the LGBTQ+ community. Despite its glamorous reputation, Pampelonne also includes large public sections where visitors can simply enjoy the natural beauty of the Mediterranean coastline.

Among the best-known parts of the beach is Plage de Tahiti, one of the original hotspots of Saint-Tropez’s beach culture. Even here, it is still possible to find quieter stretches of sand if you walk a little further along the shoreline.

With its long sandy expanse, clear water, and famous beach clubs, Pampelonne remains one of the most legendary beach destinations on the Côte d’Azur.

👉 Local tip: Walk 10-15 minutes away from the main beach club entrances, and you’ll usually find much quieter sections of sand where you can enjoy the same beautiful setting without the crowds.
