Directions

Carry-le-Rouet is one of the livelier towns along the Côte Bleue, offering a mix of seaside charm, marina life, and easy access to the Mediterranean Sea.

Built around a small harbor lined with restaurants and cafés, the town has a more polished and social atmosphere than other parts of this stretch of coast. It’s known for its diving spots, thanks to a protected marine reserve just offshore, making it a good base for underwater exploration.

Carry-le-Rouet also has a cultural footnote: it was the final home of Nina Simone, who spent her last years here.

West of town, the coastline becomes flatter as it merges into Sausset-les-Pins, with more developed seafronts and smaller, often artificial beaches. For better sandy beaches, it’s worth continuing toward Carro and La Couronne, where the coastline opens up.

Carry itself works best as a short stop for lunch, a harbor walk, or diving, rather than a full-day destination.

👉 Local Tip: Come around sunset and walk along the marina. It’s the best time to enjoy the atmosphere without the midday crowds.
