KTEL Liosion, also known as Bus Terminal B, is one of Athens’ two major intercity bus stations, serving KTEL buses to central and northern Greece, including Delphi, Volos, Lamia, and other popular destinations. Though functional rather than scenic, it’s a vital hub for travelers planning Athens day trips or longer journeys by public transport. The terminal has ticket counters, waiting areas, small cafés, and kiosks for snacks or last-minute essentials. It’s accessible by taxi (about 15 minutes from central Athens) or by local buses from Omonia and Larissa stations.

Travelers should arrive at least 20–30 minutes before departure, especially in summer when lines at ticket counters and platforms can be long. Buses are clean, punctual, and a cost-effective way to reach archaeological sites, mountain towns, and regional cities without the need for a car. While it lacks the polish of an airport terminal, KTEL Liosion is straightforward to navigate with clear signage and staff ready to assist. For independent travelers exploring Greece on a budget, it’s the starting point for an authentic and affordable journey.
