The Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain (MAMAC) is one of the most striking museums in Nice, both for its architecture and its collection. The building itself is a bold work of contemporary design, formed by four marble-faced towers connected by glass walkways, creating the appearance of a monumental arch rising above the city.

Inside, the museum traces the development of modern and contemporary art from the 1960s to today, with a focus on avant-garde movements that transformed the art world in the second half of the 20th century.

The collection includes works by major international artists, particularly American Pop Art figures such as Andy Warhol, alongside pieces by European avant-garde artists. A highlight is the work of Yves Klein, one of Nice’s most famous artists and a leading figure of the École de Nice movement.

In addition to its permanent collection, MAMAC regularly hosts temporary exhibitions and contemporary installations, making it one of the city’s most dynamic cultural spaces.
