Clear water, easy access, and a rare stretch of public shoreline make this one of the easiest places to enjoy the sea in Monaco. It’s a beach that works whether you want a quick swim or a full day by the water.

Larvotto Beach, Monaco’s main public beach, combines free access areas with private beach clubs along a long, well-maintained promenade. The beach is made of fine pebbles rather than sand, but it’s comfortable enough for sunbathing and much cleaner than many sandy alternatives.

The water here is typically calm and very clear, ideal for swimming and spotting small marine life. During summer, anti-jellyfish nets are installed, and lifeguards are present, making it one of the safest beaches on this part of the Côte d’Azur.

Behind the beach runs Avenue Princesse Grace, lined with restaurants, cafés, and beach clubs where you can rent loungers, order food, or just stop for a drink. The eastern end also has a shaded play area and volleyball court, making it suitable for families.

It gets crowded in peak season, especially in the afternoon, but it remains one of the most convenient beach options in Monaco.
