The Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi (or Monastery of the Life-Giving Spring) is one of Poros Island’s most tranquil landmarks, set in a pine‑clad hillside about 4 km from Poros Town. Founded in 1720 by Archbishop Iakovos II, the monastery is dedicated to the Life‑Giving Spring and has historically served as a spiritual refuge and cultural hub for the island.

The complex includes a beautiful main church with Byzantine‑style frescoes, monk cells, and a shaded courtyard ideal for quiet reflection. Surrounded by tall pines and overlooking the Saronic Gulf, the monastery offers visitors a serene escape from the busier harbor areas. Modest dress is required (shoulders and knees covered).

👉 Visit in the morning for a peaceful experience and cooler temperatures. Combine it with a stop at nearby Love Bay for a perfect cultural and seaside pairing.
