If you want to understand how perfume is actually made in Grasse, this is one of the easiest places to see the process from start to finish. It’s informative, well-organized, and accessible even if you know nothing about perfumery.

The Parfumerie Fragonard - La Fabrique des Fleurs, located just south of the old town of Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes), is a modern production site where perfumes and soaps are still manufactured. Built in 1986, it complements the historic factory in the center and offers free guided tours explaining the main stages of perfume creation.

During the visit, you’ll see traditional and modern techniques, from steam distillation and enfleurage to contemporary extraction methods. The tour also includes the laboratory, where raw materials are blended into fragrance concentrates, and the bottling workshop, where products are prepared for sale.

Outside, a small botanical garden showcases the key plants used in perfumery, including jasmine, rose, tuberose, and orange blossom. The visit usually ends in the shop, where you can explore the full range of Fragonard products.

👉 Local Tip: The tour is worth doing once, but don’t feel pressured to buy at the end. For a more authentic experience, combine this visit with smaller perfume spots or local producers in Grasse.
