The Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon is one of the most diverse and rewarding areas in Provence, covering a vast landscape of mountains, valleys, forests, and hilltop villages.

Stretching between Cavaillon and Manosque, the park includes both the rugged Petit Luberon and the more expansive Grand Luberon, offering everything from limestone cliffs and cedar forests to quiet gorges and open plateaus.

This is where you’ll find many of Provence’s most iconic villages, but also some of its most peaceful landscapes. Wildlife is abundant, with eagles, wild boar, owls, and beavers living across the region.

The park is ideal for hiking, cycling, and scenic drives, with routes ranging from easy walks to demanding trails like the GR9, which crosses the Luberon mountains. Areas like Buoux attract climbers, while quieter valleys provide space to explore without crowds.

It’s also a region shaped by tradition, with local markets, vineyards, and rural life still very much present.

👉 Local Tip: Don’t try to “see the Luberon” in one day. Pick one zone, either Petit or Grand Luberon, and explore it properly. You’ll enjoy it far more than rushing between villages.
