If you’re tired of pebbles, this is one of the few beaches on the Riviera that feels different under your feet. That alone makes it worth knowing.

Plage des Sablettes, in Menton, stretches between the Old Port and Garavan, offering a fine gravel surface that feels close to sand and a wide, open layout. It’s one of the most comfortable beaches in the area.

The water here is shallow and gently sloping, making it a strong choice for families or anyone who prefers calmer swimming conditions. In summer, the beach is supervised, and there are facilities nearby.

The setting adds to the experience, with views of Menton’s colorful old town on one side and the Italian mountains on the other. The recently redeveloped promenade behind the beach is pedestrian-friendly, lined with cafés, bars, and shops.

👉 Local Tip: Come in the late afternoon when the light hits the old town. It’s quieter, cooler, and the views are at their best.
