Balade Parc Borély
ParkActivity
Directions

A rare walk in Marseille where you move from city streets to greenery, then all the way to the sea without ever feeling rushed. It’s easy, varied, and surprisingly local.

This Balade Parc Borély follows a pleasant route along the Huveaune river, starting near Bonneveine and gradually leading you through quieter neighborhoods into one of Marseille’s most beloved green spaces. The path mixes urban exploration with shaded sections, making it especially enjoyable on hot days.

Along the way, you pass landmarks like the Ballet National de Marseille, small residential streets, and eventually reach the entrance of Parc Borély, where the atmosphere changes completely. Inside the park, you can explore formal gardens, a large lake, the château, a botanical garden, and wide lawns where locals picnic, play sports, or simply relax.

The walk can continue beyond the park toward the MAC (Museum of Contemporary Art) and the Bonneveine area, or toward the seafront near Escale Borély if you want to end by the beach.

This route works well whether you walk, cycle, or combine it with a beach day, making it one of the most versatile and enjoyable easy outings in Marseille.

👉 Local Tip: Enter Parc Borély early in the morning or late afternoon and head toward the lake and quieter corners near the botanical garden. Most visitors stay near the main paths, but the best atmosphere is always a bit further in.
