Plage Petite Afrique
BeachPhotospot
Directions

In a sheltered bay between Monaco and Nice, this beach stands out for its calm water and surprisingly lush setting. It feels quieter and more protected than many stretches of the Riviera coastline.

Plage de la Petite Afrique in Beaulieu-sur-Mer is often considered one of the best beaches on the French Riviera thanks to its clear water, fine pebbles, and excellent facilities. The shoreline curves gently, creating safe swimming conditions, with lifeguards on duty and designated bathing areas.

Palm trees along the beach and pine trees just behind it add shade and give the area a slightly tropical feel, rare for this part of the coast. Families will appreciate the playground, volleyball court, and easy access, while more active visitors can rent paddle boards, jet skis, and other water sports nearby.

Most of the beach is public, though a section is reserved for a beach club offering loungers, cocktails, and dining.

👉 Local Tip: Arrive early in summer or come late afternoon. This beach is popular with locals and fills up quickly, especially near the shaded areas and playground.
