Directions

Have a walk through different ecosystems in one place. You move from dry landscapes to dense greenery within minutes, which keeps the experience engaging, especially with kids.

The Jardin Zoologique Tropical, located in the Var, spans over 5.5 hectares and brings together themed environments such as cactus gardens, an Australian bush, palm groves, bamboo areas, and tropical zones. Along the way, you’ll encounter more than 150 animals, including lemurs, squirrel monkeys, hornbills, macaws, cockatoos, meerkats, and giant African tortoises.

Open since 1989 and labeled Jardin Remarquable, the park is also involved in conservation programs aimed at protecting endangered species. Daily animations and opportunities to meet animal keepers add an educational dimension to the visit.

For families, there’s a treasure hunt, playground, and picnic area, making it easy to spend several hours on site. For a more immersive experience, VIP sessions with a keeper can be booked in advance.

👉 Local Tip: Visit in the morning when animals are more active and temperatures are cooler, especially in summer. Bring water and plan breaks in shaded areas, as the park can get warm.
