The main street in Arashiyama — Sagatenryuji Susukinobaba-cho Street (also known as Arashiyama’s main shopping street) — is the lively heart of this scenic Kyoto district. Stretching from Arashiyama Station (Randen Line) to the iconic Togetsukyo Bridge, it’s lined with traditional shops, sweet stalls, kimono rental studios, and cozy cafes serving everything from matcha soft cream to Kyoto-style soba. It’s the perfect spot to wander after visiting the bamboo forest or monkey park, and it’s also where you’ll find rickshaw rides and charming souvenir stores selling handcrafted goods and local snacks like yatsuhashi and dango. On Google Maps, pin “Arashiyama Shopping Street (嵐山商店街)” or search for “Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto” to find the main strip.
