Nijo Market is the go-to spot for a seriously good start to the day in Sapporo. This compact market is all about ultra-fresh Hokkaido seafood, with stalls and small eateries serving up overflowing kaisendon topped with crab, salmon roe, scallops, and uni. It’s busiest in the morning, which is exactly when you want to be here... hungry, slightly overwhelmed, and very happy. Nijo Market is where breakfast turns into a highlight rather than just a meal.

Tip: Grab a seafood rice bowl, or 'kaisendon', for breakfast from one of the small, friendly restaurants tucked within the market.
