Hoheikyo Onsen is a favourite day-trip onsen just outside Sapporo, loved for its huge outdoor baths surrounded by nature and 100% natural flowing hot spring water. It’s open daily from around 10:00–22:30, with entry costing roughly ¥1,300 for adults, and offers both indoor and open-air baths that feel especially magical in winter. One of the fun extras is the seasonal snow igloo BBQ (about ¥3,500 per person for 90 minutes), where you can enjoy a cosy grilled meal inside an igloo, plus an on-site restaurant serving curry, naan, and Hokkaido comfort food, perfect after a long soak.
