Reina Beach is one of the most picturesque spots on Sommarøy and one of my favorites, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters, soft white sand, and dramatic fjord and mountain backdrop. Whether you’re a photographer, nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful spot, this beach is a true Arctic gem.
In winter, it’s perfect for watching the Northern Lights, especially if you stay overnight on the island. In summer, the combination of soft sand, turquoise water, and long Arctic daylight makes it a stunning place to relax or take a walk.
If you’re road-tripping around Tromsø, don’t skip this spot—it’s beautiful in all seasons. Even on quieter days, you’ll likely have the beach mostly to yourself, giving you a true sense of Arctic solitude.
💡 Tip: Bring warm layers in winter, and a tripod if you want to capture the Northern Lights over the beach. Sunsets and golden hour are magical in summer, with the mountains reflecting in the water.
🧭 Location: Easily accessible by car via the main Sommarøy road; parking is available near the beach.
