Perched near the Utsiktspunkt viewpoint, Fjellstua Café og Restaurant is a must-visit if you’re heading up the mountain. While we didn’t go ourselves due to a snowstorm closing the cable car, it comes highly recommended by locals for its delicious food, warm atmosphere, and incredible views. The location is also known as a fantastic spot to watch the northern lights.

You can reach the café by the cable car (weather permitting) or on foot via the Sherpatrappa hiking route, a steep but well-maintained staircase nicknamed after the Nepalese sherpas for its challenging climb. Both options reward you with sweeping views over Tromsø, the fjords, and surrounding islands.

💡 Tip: Try to time your visit for sunset or evening if you want to combine a meal with northern lights spotting.
