Saxhóll Crater is a striking volcanic crater located on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland, inside Snæfellsjökull National Park. The crater, is a red, perfectly shaped volcanic cone that formed about 3,000–4,000 years ago during a volcanic eruption. The crater rises roughly 100 meters (330 ft) above the surrounding lava field, offering an easy but rewarding short hike with 360° panoramic views
